Allergy and Clinical Immunology

Overview

Pathological conditions of refractory allergic or autoimmune diseases are being clarified on a molecular level due to the recent progress in molecular biology. However, many patients with allergic or autoimmune diseases are still forced to undergo treatment with steroids or immunosuppressants, which may be accompanied by significant adverse drug reactions.
We consider that medical research will go in the right direction if basic research and clinical medicine are implemented, and bidirectional interactions from basic research to clinical medicine, and vice versa, are maintained. Our department intends to develop new therapeutic strategies for refractory autoimmune and allergic diseases by optimizing the network between basic research and clinical medicine.
