Dr. Chiba and Mr. Furukawa won prizes from societies of legal medicine in June

Mr. Shota Furukawa, a fourth-year medical student of Tokyo University, was awarded the Student Poster Forum prize for “A Novel Method for Quick Detection of Hepatitis B Virus in Postmortem Blood Sample”at the 100th Central Congress of the Japanese Society of Legal Medicine in Tokyo on June 17, 2016. This was a result of collaborative research by nine people affiliated with Chiba University and Tokyo University.

Dr. Fumiko Chiba was awarded “Best Poster Presentation” for “Stature Estimation in Modern Japanese Cadavers Based on Femur Measurements Using Multidedector Computed Tomography” at the International Academy of Legal Medicine Intersocietal Symposium in Venice, Italy on June 24, 2016. This was also a result of collaborative research. Dr. Chiba is a Project Lecturer, MD with Chiba University (Lecturer with Tokyo University).
