私は、マラリア原虫とその仲間たちがもつ葉緑体由来のオルガネラ「アピコプラスト」に興味をもち、その機能や維持機構について研究しています。特に、オートファジー関連因子がアピコプラストの維持に必要であることを軸として、アピコプラストの維持に果たすオートファジー関連因子の機能の解明を目指しています。
また、マラリア原虫などの単細胞の真核生物におけるATGの保存性とその細胞内機能についての解析も進めています。オートファジー関連因子ATGを切り口として、真核生物の誕生に重要であったであろう細胞機能の理解を深めることが目標です。
